This is a great cure for hangovers, comedowns, whatever ails you.
This may not look like a beast of a serving, but with all this in, you will feel sated for some time.
Serves 1
Ingredients
2 sausages (we used good sausages as they were on offer in Asda)
2 rashers bacon
1 egg
1 onion (sliced into rings)
2 mushrooms (sliced)
2 slices of bread
1/2 tin of beans
1 knob of butter
1 tomato
2 English Breakfast teabag
Note, any of these ingredients is expendable, it was just easier to have all of them in together at the same time, rather than doing lots of different mini-guides.
Method
- put sausages onto a grill pan and stick under the grill at medium to high heat (our grill goes up to 12, we cooked this at 10). If you have black pudding, start that now as well, this will need turning about the same time that the bacon is added.
- start slicing the onions, mushrooms and cut the tomatoes into halves.
- When the sausages start to brown, turn them over.
- Now put the onions into a pan with some oil on a medium to high heat to fry.
- Put the beans into a pan and start on a medium heat.
- Heat the knob of butter in another pan until it is melted and then add the mushrooms.
- Turn the onion rings over to cook the other side, and to prevent burning.
- Turn the sausages again when they look brown on both sides, at this point also put the bacon on the grill pan.
- Make sure to stir the beans to stop them sticking to the bottom of the pan.
- Remove the onions from the pan and set on some kitchen roll to soak up some of the oil.
- Put cold water in kettle and flick the switch to start the boiling process.
- Put more oil into the pan that contained the onions and then place a slice of bread into the pan.
- Stir the beans and the mushrooms.
- Turn over the sausages onto the last uncooked part and flip the bacon, back under the grill.
- check the bread in the frying pan, when it starts to go golden turn it over, you may need some more oil at this point.
- Stir the beans and remove the mushrooms from the butter and place on your plate, pour the butter into the pan with the bread.
- remove the beans from the heat and put on your plate, check the sausages and bacon to see if they look right, if so then plate them up as well
- Check the fried bread, it if is golden both sides, plate up and if you wish cut in half.
- Put more oil in the pan and crack an egg into the pan.
- The kettle is boiled now, pour the hot water over English Breakfast tea bags in a teapot (if you don’t have a teapot, get one, it is essential kitchenware, trust me on this! No compromises.)
- Quickly flip the egg in the pan now that the bottom has taken on a more solid appearance, this should only be briefly (about 20 seconds) just to cook the top properly.
- Put the egg on the plate and then pour out the orange juice.

Enjoy.
As said, pretty much anything can be replaced or even removed in this (apart from the English Breakfast Tea brewed in a teapot, that’s essential), for instance if you don’t like beans then go for plum tomatoes, the principle is the same.
